Despite the fact that women and minorities are underrepresented in STEM fields, new research suggests that more diverse startups perform better than their more homogenous counterparts. Moreover, companies seeking to benefit from a broad range of perspectives a diverse workforce provides must acknowledge that change will not come without deliberate efforts to hire employees with differing experiences.
