On October 12th, California Governor Jerry Brown signed a law banning employers from inquiring about salary histories during the job application process. While the law does not explicitly call attention to gender inequality, the law’s authors intended the law to help mitigate the wage gap in an effort to bolster women’s economic position and the entire economy.
