While we have been able to underscore explicit forms of misogyny like sexual harassment and gender-based violence, we have not been able to name more systematic products of misogyny. Anti-woman beliefs undervalue women’s contributions to the economy and limits their opportunities. While women economists have been increasingly prevalent in mainstream economic theory, men have dominated the field thus far. Perhaps even more significant is the fact that economic theory has been heavily influenced by male-centric worldviews.
