Female senior executives in the federal government have (slightly) higher annual median earnings than their male counterparts. Women occupying lower level positions in the federal government still face a wage gap, but it is much smaller than that faced by women in the private sector. Furthermore, women in the federal government fare much better in terms of career advancement and promotion. Can the federal government lend some wisdom to the private sector?
