New amendments to the Massachusetts Equal Pay Act (MEPA) will go into effect this July. The new provisions require employers to provide equal pay for comparable work without a difference in seniority, merit or experience, performance, or location. MEPA also bans questions about salary history during the hiring process, as these questions may be slowing progress towards wage equality.
