State Senate Unanimously Passes Pay Equity Bill, Treasurer Releases Wage Gap Calculator

On Equal Pay Day 2016, there is a lot to think about. Nationally, and in our Commonwealth, the wage gap is persistent. The average woman in Massachusetts makes 82 cents for every dollar earned by a white, non-Hispanic male counterpart. Asian, African-American, and Latina women fare much worse at 80, 61, and 50 cents, respectively.
