In thinking about the impact of sexual harassment on women’s pay, two economists examined whether certain fields, where sexual harassment was more likely, were associated with increased wages. While the scholars have differing views on this phenomenon called danger pay, they agree that the risk of harassment in some fields causes women to take lower-paying jobs.
