New Jersey Added to List of States Moving to Pass Pay Equity Legislation

A pay equity bill passed the New Jersey Senate Labor Committee in a recent vote. The bill is fashioned similarly to the legislation passed in Massachusetts, Oregon, New York City, and Philadelphia. If signed into law by the governor, it would prohibit employers from requiring salary history and penalizing employees who discuss salary or terms of employment with other employees.
