Women are more likely to have breaks in their careers for child-rearing or other familial duties, live longer than men, and carry unequal responsibility at home and in the workplace. Women need to save more and they are. In the past 12 years, the portion of women who have amassed $1 million in their 401(k) accounts has doubled.
