The lack of representation of women in STEM fields doesn't begin at recruiting events or on graduation day. Instead, it starts with deeply engrained systems defining the way women's relationship with technology is perceived. Evidence shows that these misperceptions manifest themselves as early as elementary school, and persist through university and into the job market, creating a tight funnel on women who may have entered lucrative fields in tech and innovation.
