Starting in July 2018, employers of the Commonwealth will not be able to ask for salary history before a job offer is on the table. Since 1945, Massachusetts has outlawed gender based wage discrimination, but wage discrimination still persists. With mothers increasingly becoming the breadwinners in households across the U.S., this legislation is very much needed.
