EU commissioner of justice and gender equality Vĕra Jourová proposed a quota which would require publicly listed businesses to have boards that are at least 40% female. The percentage of women on boards across the EU has more than doubled between 2005 and 2015, however, the percentage of board chair, president, and chief executive positions occupied by women is still dismal.
